On Monday October 19 at 2:30 pm was given opening the 5th International Symposium Jorge Isaac , http://jorgeisaacs.univalle.edu.co/ . Valley University will open its doors to the community to participate in this conference, which becomes an opportunity to explore the thinking of individuals dedicated to research, especially in the field of 'The independence' theme of the Symposium.

At 3:00 pm, opening ceremony was scheduled as a discussion with the writer Fernando Cruz Kronfly ** about his book `The Ash Liberator ' , as presentation was by Orlando Mejía . The book explores the drama of Simón Bolívar, and shows excerpts from the life of freedom they have been neglected by history. This novel deals with the man after the victory and glory died in defeat, and left alone, mumbling to himself the impossibility of romantic utopia.

At 4:00 pm opened the first panel discussion entitled 'Republic, Territory and National projects', which was attended by Jaime de Almeida, a researcher at the University of Brasilia; and Germain Patiño, a researcher and lecturer attached to the University of Westminster.

At 5:30, Center presentation Issacs and virtual hosting virtual book `The Unhappy 'by Ignacio Torres Giraldo.

Finally at 6:00 pm held 'Around the block: Memoirs of Cali' presents Alvaro Suescún. Reading of texts by writers Carmiña Navia, Fernando Cruz Kronfly ; José Zuleta ; Omar Ortiz Forero, Julian Malatesta, Fabio Martínez, Hernando Urriago and Kevin Alexis Garcia. +++++
